Aims of FICIAE:

- Building an international forum for scholars working on Islamic arts, architecture and archaeology in the Islamic East.

- Sharing the results of the latest research, field studies, and archaeological expeditions carried out in the Islamic East, and discussing the current directions and problems in the studies of the Islamic East.

- Spreading knowledge about the various facets of Eastern Islamic archaeology, architectural heritage, artistic products, decorative arts, and painting.

- Exploring the cultural links between the various civilizations of the East and other civilizations of the world, especially the mutual cultural links between the Eastern and Western Islamic worlds.

- Strengthening the links between scholars and researchers specializing in Eastern Islamicart, archeology and civilization, and promoting relations between universities and institutionsthat share an interestin this field.

- Fostering efforts in recording and documenting monuments in the Islamic East, especially in countries witnessing crisis and turmoil.

- Promoting scholarly publications in the fieldofEastern Islamic art, architecture and archaeology.
